An experienced case manager who knows how to connect people with the supports that keep them stable, independent, and engaged in their community. Out in the field, not behind a desk.
Help build a brand-new Section 17 program
There are very few Section 17 providers in this part of Maine. The need is real, the clients are waiting, and we're building a team that takes this work seriously. If you've done this work before and want to do it somewhere that values quality over volume, we'd like to talk to you.
MC Community Services has been providing behavioral health services in this region since 2009. We're locally owned, community-rooted, and growing. We provide children's behavioral health (Section 28), adult outpatient therapy and assessments (Section 65), and adult community supports (Section 17). Our Community Integration Services are launching now — you won't be inheriting someone else's caseload and processes. You'll help shape how this program runs, somewhere that values quality over volume.
Yes. Active MHRT/C (Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician — Community) certification is required for this role. This is an experienced case management position, so we're looking for someone who already holds the credential.
$22–$24/hr starting pay, with the higher end for candidates who bring Section 17 experience. On top of that: a seasonal bonus program (currently active April–September), tiered PTO that grows with your tenure, and mileage reimbursement.
W-2 employment. You are an employee of MC Community Services, not a contractor. That means real supervision, real support, and the protections that come with being part of a team — not the 1099 misclassification that's common in this field.
Both are Section 17 services for the same population. Community Integration is an experienced case management role: conducting assessments, coordinating services, and connecting people to housing, healthcare, and community resources — it requires active MHRT/C certification. Daily Living Support focuses on in-home routines and skills, offers paid MHRT-1 training, and requires no certification to start.
Out in the community across Penobscot and Piscataquis counties — in clients' homes, community settings, wherever they need you. This is field-based work, not a desk job, so reliable transportation is a must.
Joanna Preble (LCSW, LADC, CCS) is our Clinical Director and provides clinical supervision and support for all Section 17 staff. Because this program is brand new, you'll also help shape how it runs.
Tell us about your case management experience and what you're looking for. We'd like to talk to you.
