Get in on the ground floor of our new Section 17 program
For many of the people we serve, this support is what keeps them out of crisis and in their community. You'll be the consistent, reliable presence that makes daily life manageable — with a supervised team and a licensed clinical director behind you.
We provide paid training to earn your MHRT-1 certification. You get paid while you learn, and you walk away with a credential that opens doors in behavioral health across Maine.
MC Community Services has been providing behavioral health services in this region since 2009. We're locally owned, community-rooted, and growing. We provide children's behavioral health (Section 28), adult outpatient therapy and assessments (Section 65), and adult community supports (Section 17). Our Section 17 program is brand new, and you'd be getting in on the ground floor of something we're building to last.
No. MHRT-1 certification is a plus, but it's not required. We provide paid training to earn your MHRT-1 certification — you get paid while you learn, and you walk away with a credential that opens doors in behavioral health across Maine.
$20–$21/hr starting pay, plus a seasonal bonus program (currently active April–September), tiered PTO that grows with your tenure, and mileage reimbursement.
W-2 employment. You are an employee of MC Community Services, not a contractor. That means real supervision, real support, and the protections that come with being part of a team — not the 1099 misclassification that's common in this field.
In adults' homes and communities across Penobscot and Piscataquis counties. This is in-person, community-based work — not an office job. You'll travel to clients across the service area, so reliable transportation is a must.
Joanna Preble (LCSW, LADC, CCS) is our Clinical Director and provides clinical supervision for all Section 17 staff. You'll also have regular supervision and a team that supports you in the field.
Both are Section 17 services for the same population. Daily Living Support focuses on routines and skills inside the home: cooking, hygiene, budgeting, household management, appointments. Community Integration focuses on connecting people to community resources, housing, healthcare, and natural supports, and requires active MHRT/C certification. Daily Living Support offers paid MHRT-1 training, so no certification is required to start.
